SoNo Library Read In

On Saturday April 17th I attended the read-in protest organised by the Friends of South Norwood Library. The aim was to show the library is not forgotten and to underline how vital it is to our community. Local author Katya Belen attended and read an extract from her book and the friends recorded more comments from the people there on what the library meant to them.

The read-ins will continue every Saturday from 11.30am to 12.30pm. Please do go along to show your support and take the opportunity to use the select and collect service the library team is now offering.

There will also be a meeting this Thursday (April 22nd) to which all the candidates in the South Norwood by-election have been invited to speak at. You can find the details online on the Friends' web page (https://www.friendsofsouthnorwoodlibrary.org/take-action) and I have also added them below.

FOSNL Council Election Debate

We are inviting all candidates who are standing for the councillor seat in the South Norwood Ward to take part in a debate on the future of South Norwood library. Each candidate will get 5 minutes to talk about their opinion, and then four pre-agreed questions will be posed to all candidates. Finally the floor will be opened to anyone who wants to ask the candidates a question (time will not allow for all questions, so these will be on a first-come basis through messaging the chair on the chat).
